More fun with black light paints-

Once again it is very difficult to reproduce black light paintings- the above pic was under an LED flashlight (which tends to blow out the highlights).Below was under a halogen black light (which tends to make the colors a bit fuller than real life)-

The starting point-

To begin I smeared some Tri-Art UV Reactive Medium over a scrap of wet black paper and then rolled wadded up paper towels in the wet paint. I think you can see some forms emerging.

After the paper dried I started going over it thinly with some blue (black light) paint and it seemed a little dark- and cold. I went in with some green and violet and the colors just didn’t pop out enough so I just starting pouring the paint on straight from the bottle-

The thick puddles of paint really pop under the black light and dried without leaving brush marks- but did develop this interesting ghostly effect. I can’t wait to start using them in sculpture projects 👻🤗🙃
