“Monad VI”- Original painting by MJ Seal. Acrylic on canvas, 54” x 22”. C. 2021This beaute etrange began as a very wrinkled piece of canvas I was using to wipe paint brushes off on. It developed some very interesting patterns over time and I decided it would make a good starting point.A little nerve center at the anterior (?) end?The innardsThe posterior (?)Elements seem to be ascending and sinking at the same time with the warm, gray ground that enveloped everything Little tendrils of frayed thread reach out along the edgesA dark cavern at the heart The textures of the canvas gives it an almost topographical effect Esp with the color scheme that developed There are so many little worlds and so much movement in this it’s almost impossible to focus on any one portion
