Roving Formation

Close up detail of one of the five pieces of an abstract paper mache sculpture by MJ Seal that resmbles a group of giant gray slugs with acid green spikes roving across the ground

They look as interesting gliding across the floor as they do on a wall-

“Roving Formation/Spring Landscape”- Original sculpture by MJ Seal. Paper ephemera, old paintings, old rags, PVA glue, acrylic and beeswax paste, approximately 7’ x 5’. C. 2019

I had actually finished this about a year ago and just realized when I was putting together a gallery application last week that I had never done a proper photo shoot of this ensemble.

For the group shot I had to use the parking lot behind my apartment as a background- as they would not quite fit in my apartment all together.

They actually look good against the dark background of the pavement
And they definitely seem to be moving at first glance
The biggest of the bunch
This one is a little over 3’ long
My favorite
This one reminds me of a limpet
Un concombre de mer?
