“Morass”- Original painting by MJ Seal. Acrylic on canvas, 30” x 19”. C. 2020
When I began applying the colors to this it rapidly developed that rainbow-hued effect- it wasn’t what I was originally thinking- but I’m glad it worked out the way it did as I was worried this would end up to Green- it definitely isn’t to green.
I really like using loose, frayed canvas for paintings- the little tendrils of loose thread give it a life all it’s own. plus I don’t fuss over clean edges- since there is no hope of achieving any.The vibrant rainbow hues tone down the general creepiness of the skeletal forms I think.Multitudes of eyes peer out from a filmy green underworld
wow, now it’s much more than excavated bones in a jungle, it’s more like it tells us about a lively culture as their origin, hidden, lost, or maybe it’s still there… fantastic!
magnifique!!
