Blotograph is just a made up word that literally translates to “blot drawing”. They begin as a watercolor or ink blot that I then draw over. I started these as a weekly exercise in free association to help keep my mind nice and limber. Some of them have developed into interesting starting points for larger pieces and some have turned into art pieces in their own right.
